It’s no secret that Barcelona and Real Madrid both have struggles at right back. The former currently do not have a natural one in Xavi Hernandez’s squad, while there have been doubts over Dani Carvajal’s performance levels for the latter.

Both clubs could be in the market for a new right back this summer, and a shock target that has emerged for both is Trent Alexander-Arnold. MD have reported that the Liverpool defender has taken the interest of both clubs, who could make a move before the start of next season.

Alexander-Arnold has been regarded as one of the best right backs in world football for several years now, although this season has been a difficult one for the 24-year-old, who has struggled defensively at times.

Although there is little doubt about Alexander-Arnold’s ability, his suitability for either Barcelona or Real Madrid is questionable. Xavi and Carlo Ancelotti appear to be looking for a fullback that is adept defensively, and there have been huge question marks over the Englishman’s defensive capabilities this season.

Fabio Carvalho’s loan switch to Hull City has been officially confirmed on X (formerly Twitter) this morning.

Reliable transfer news journalist Fabrizio Romano shared the update in question on his personal X account, with the attacking midfielder having just put pen to paper on a loan deal.

Hopefully a more positive spell

Interest was most certainly heavy as far as our 21-year-old was concerned, with fellow Championship outfit Southampton also said to have been keen on his signature.

With game time coming in extremely short supply in Germany, however, we’re hopeful that the MKM Stadium can prove as fruitful for Carvalho as it has so far for our young holding midfielder.

but already the best player in the world. He will achieve great success with both the club and the national team in the next decade or so.”

Kylian Mbappe to Liverpool

“I don’t want to discuss the financial aspects of the agreement. It is not solely about money. It is a gentleman’s agreement between the player, the club president, the sporting director, and the coach. It goes beyond a mere signed contract.”

“Let me be clear, I have a strong desire for Kylian to stay. Absolutely. In my opinion, he is the best player in the world, and PSG is the best place for him.”

In addition to Real Madrid, Liverpool, one of the Premier League’s powerhouses, has consistently been linked with Mbappe as a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah.

There’s definitely a player of some substance in the Portuguese star, he just needs a show of faith
