My family, they’re all from Glasgow, they all support Celtic so I always follow them and I’m definitely very excited to play Rangers” – Celtic could complete €10m splurge, Top-class star £50m rated EPL sensation professes love for Hoops, says he can’t wait to face Rangers

Celtic are expected to open the chequebook in January, with a potential transfer spend of £5m to £10m forecasted as they aim to maintain their dominance on multiple fronts.

The Hoops have made an electrifying start to the season, dropping points just once in the Premiership, cruising to the League Cup final, and holding their own in Europe.

Their domestic campaign sees them in a fierce tussle with Aberdeen at the top of the table, but a 6-0 demolition of the Dons at Hampden underscored their status as favourites to pull away.

Rangers, meanwhile, sit a distant nine points adrift and risk falling out of contention entirely.

Summer spending was substantial, with Matt O’Riley’s £25m departure reinvested and then some. Key acquisitions included Arne Engels (£11m), Adam Idah (£9m), and Auston Trusty (£7m). Yet, according to former Aberdeen chief Keith Wyness, Celtic’s spending spree is far from over.

Speaking on the Inside Track podcast, Wyness remarked:

“We know there’s money. They’ve managed to turn around their performances in Europe, it’s fantastic. There is money in the bank, there’s Champions League money coming in. I do think they’ll open the wallet in January to a degree and try and give Brendan the chance to go further in Europe.

“It won’t be significant. I wouldn’t think it was anything more than £5-10million mid-season. They have proven they can get young talent in.

“The problem is now getting them acclimatised to European games going forward and get them to a level where they can make the difference at that level.”

Elsewhere, Tottenham star and Celtic fanatic Archie Gray has once again voiced his excitement about facing Rangers next month.

The midfielder, son of former Scotland international Andy Gray, made a £30m move to Spurs under Ange Postecoglou in the summer.

Speaking on the club’s YouTube series Driving Home, he shared his eagerness ahead of the Europa League clash at Ibrox on December 12.

He said:

“My family, Eddie, they’re all from Glasgow, and they all support Celtic so I always follow them and I’m definitely very excited to play Rangers.”

When asked about his family’s reaction to his transfer and working under Postecoglou, Gray added:

“Yeah. And all my family were like that as well, especially Eddie and Frank and my dad (Andy), they were really excited that I’ve got the opportunity to work under him.”

Celtic fans will hope Gray’s enthusiasm translates to success on the pitch as their club continues to strive for silverware on all fronts.
