André Trindade with big endorsement
Former Liverpool star Lucas Leiva, who spent 10 seasons at Anfield between 2007 and 2017, is urging Klopp to rekindle his move to sign Andre. Labeling the player as a modern-day No 6, he….
believes his old club would be making a big mistake by not swooping to bring the 22-year-old to Anfield and suggests disrupting Fulham’s bid to sign him. Lucas praises the player’s skills and emphasizes the position’s importance for Liverpool. He cautions about the challenges of Brazilian players adapting but underscores that the decision depends on the compatibility of Andre’s playing style with Liverpool’s.
Jurgen Klopp’s side take on the Red Devils at Anfield on Sunday afternoon, hoping to inflict a similar scoreline to the 7-0 thrashing witnessed back in March.
On a transfer front, the Reds are said to be losing ground in the race to sign Napoli star Victor Osimhen. Elsewhere, Lille have reportedly named their price for promising centre-back Leny Yoro.

Arsenal to compete for ‘Liverpool target’
Football365 claim that Arsenal are set to meet the €60m release clause required to sign Goncalo Inacio from Sporting CP.
The latest report states that the Liverpool and Manchester United target is on the Gunners’ radar and they have now moved out in front to complete a deal ahead of their rivals.
The Reds have been linked to the defender throughout 2023.
Sporting CP defender Gonçalo Inácio has been linked with a move to Liverpool for some time.
Nat Phillips plan
Football Insider believe that Liverpool will make use of the January transfer window to recall Nat Phillips from his loan at Celtic ahead of schedule.
The 26-year-old had moved north of the border for the first half of the campaign with an option to extend for the full season.
However the Reds are reportedly not going to force this to happen and instead bring Phillips back into the fold at Anfield, where he can help ease the centre back injury problem caused by the long-term blow to Joel Matip.
It hasn’t exactly worked well for Phillips at Parkhead under Brendan Rodgers – he’s made only eight appearances this season.
These rankings are based on the results of taking part in the previous five seasons in UEFA competition and are used to determine the seeding of clubs in draws.
Now obviously the Reds have been a part of the Champions League in the previous four campaigns, dropping down to the Europa League this year, though what looks extraordinary is how high they compared to some rivals despite playing in the secondary competition in 2023/24.
Reigning Champions League holders Man City are top, followed by Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain. Then behind them in fifth, it is none other than Liverpool.
That is three places higher than Chelsea, four higher than Man United and 16 above Arsenal!
Momodou Sonko interest
Liverpool have been named on the list of clubs with interest in signing Momodou Sonko from Swedish club Hacken.
Providing an update, Expressen state that the Reds and Barcelona are looking on ahead of the January transfer window. The 18-year-old made his debut in August 2022 and this season has scored 10 goals and added five assists in 35 appearances.
Super League talk re-emerges
In a fresh report from Mundo Deportivo, it is claimed that Barcelona and Real Madrid are building a revised plan to start a European Super League.
Cast your minds back to April 2021 when Liverpool were part of a small group of elite clubs that sought to break away from UEFA’s grasp with the founding of a competition of their own, however the proposal was met with serious backlash and most were quick to ditch the idea and apologise.
Next Thursday there is set to be a verdict in the European Court of Justice determining whether UEFA currently hold an illegal monopoly over organising and commercially managing elite football in this continent.
If that goes in the Super League’s favour, the two Spanish clubs are claimed to be ready to present the idea of a new tournament made up of 60 European clubs, who have already been contacted. Barca and Real would pocket £1bn each as a result.

Joao Palhinha competition
Liverpool have been recently linked with Joao Palhinha as rumours about the midfielder intensify ahead of the January transfer window.
Whether this turns out to be the genuine remains to be seen though it turns out the Reds would have to act fast.
Football Insider report that Bayern Munich – the club that failed to get a deal for the midfielder over the line on summer’s deadline day – are still very much interested and have the 28-year-old noted down as a priority target.

Jamie Carragher stirs the pot
We’re only a day away from Liverpool vs their big rivals Manchester United at Anfield and the build-up is getting intense.
Kicking off the weekend’s football coverage for Nottingham Forest against Tottenham, messers Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville were on punditry duty for Sky Sports when the former Reds vice-captain – in a “bouyant mood” according to his ex-United colleague – unveiled his Christmas jumper themed around the 7-0 battering earlier this year.
To the tune of Wizzard’s ‘I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday’, the message on Carra’s chest read: “Oh I wish I could relive this everyday, when the Kop starts singin’ & the Reds begin to play…”
“Smells of arrogance,” said Neville, “and arrogance is the surest path to failure. Are you watching, Manchester United players? Are you looking at this man’s arrogance?”
Carragher replied: “Remember it, never forget it!”
And that’s only the start of the mind games…
Liverpool have learnt exactly how much they would have to pay to prise 18-year-old centre half Leny Yoro away from Lille and well, it is a hefty sum.
€50m (£42.9m) is the fee outlined by Foot Mercato in their latest report with the Reds, Manchester City, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain all claimed to be keeping tabs.
Race for Victor Osimhen
According to Corriere dello Sport, Liverpool have fallen behind in the race to sign Napoli’s Victor Osimhen.
It is believed the Nigerian striker will renew his deal in Italy in order to include a £86m release clause, something the Reds, Arsenal, Manchester United, Newcastle and Paris Saint-Germain are all keeping an eye on.
However it is Chelsea that are ‘front of the queue’ at present, the report states, and would be the player’s preference due to his childhood support of the London club.
