The latest transfer news and rumours involving Liverpool FC including live updates on Joey Veerman, in-demand Napoli striker Victor Osimhen and Morten Frendrup.

Hello and welcome to the Liverpool ECHO’s dedicated Liverpool FC blog. We will have you covered at every step with news, views and transfer rumours from Anfield and beyond.

Things have been relatively quiet for the Reds so far this summer. However, with Arne Slot in the dugout – helped by key figures upstairs – his new squad will eventually start to take shape.

Liverpool are continuing to be linked with a move for Newcastle United forward Anthony Gordon. As part of the potential deal, Joe Gomez’s future with the Reds is also uncertain amid interest from the St James’ Park club.

Reports in Italy have flagged up interest in Genoa midfielder Morten Frendrup. Aston Villa are also said to be keen on the player, who is valued at around £21million.

PSV midfielder Joey Veerman is another name doing the rounds, while in-demand Napoli striker Victor Osimhen is hot-property this summer. PSG and Chelsea are thought to be front-runners for his signature, but there is still hope – at least tentatively – that Liverpool might consider an approach for the free-scoring Nigerian.

The ECHO understands, meanwhile, Liverpool have rejected bids for Sepp van den Berg and Wataru Endo over the last 48 hours. PSV Eindhoven and Marseille are interested in them respectively.

Salah future

Ally McCoist has claimed Arne Slot must sell Mohamed Salah if the Egyptian is unhappy at Liverpool.

Salah has been linked with a move to the Middle East in the last year and has one year remaining on his Reds contract. As it stands, he will be free to leave the club on a free transfer at the end of the season.

Commenting on the Egyptian, McCoist told talkSPORT: “If I was Arne Slot, I would sit Mohamed Salah down and figure out what’s going on in his head and whether he is happy at Liverpool.

“You need to get a response from him and find out exactly where he is mentally, because if he’s not happy, you have to cash in. It’s simple. If he is not 100% committed to moving forward with the club and the new manager, then you’ve got to cash in now.

“From Liverpool’s point of view, you would hope he would say he loves where he is and can see himself at Anfield for the next two or three years. His form may have been a little bit indifferent last season, but he still scored plenty of goals. He’s been one of the greatest players in the Premier League.

“The key players for Liverpool are Alisson, Virgil van Dijk and Salah. It goes without saying how pivotal and important they have been. And ideally, you don’t want to be losing any of them.

“But they’ll know within 90 seconds of the conversation with Salah whether they should cash in on him or not.”

Larouci move

Former Liverpool left-back Yasser Larouci has been loaned out to Watford ahead of the new season starting.

Larouci was sent to Sheffield United on loan last term by parent club Troyes and is now heading out of France once again for another temporary move.

He will be hoping things go better than last year’s shambolic showing from the Blades upon their return to the Premier League.

We are pleased to announce the signing of left-footed defender Yasser Larouci on a season-long loan from French Ligue 2 side Troyes, with the deal including an option to buy.

Summerville swoop

In case you missed it yesterday, West Ham United are closing in o7n the signing of Crysencio Summerville after agreeing a fee for the Dutch winger with Leeds United.

Liverpool had been linked with a move for Summerville, though it seems the 22-year-old is London-bound.

How do you feel about this deal, Reds? Let us know in the comments section.

Leny Yoro won’t prove Liverpool wrong as controversial transfer stance now seen in new light

Leny Yoro looks will miss out on an early chance to show Liverpool what they are missing after deciding against bidding for Frenchman prior to his move to Manchester United. The Reds had expected the 18-year-old to join Real Madrid, but decided against testing Lille’s resolve once it became clear the defender would move elsewhere.

Consequently, Yoro ended up joining United in a £52m move earlier this month, with such a switch prompting annoyance in certain sections of the Liverpool fanbase with Kopites frustrated at their club’s lack of business so far.

Liverpool-linked Olmo agrees move to Barcelona

RB Leipzig forward Dani Olmo is set for a move to Barcelona, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The 26-year-old will sign a six-year deal with the La Lia giants after the two clubs agreed a deal in the region of £52million.

Viktor Gyokeres latest

The Liverpool-linked star is not letting rumours get to his head ahead of the Supertaca final with FC Porto on Saturday.

Gyokeres is being heavily linked with a move to the Premier League this summer and there is claim that Sporting would let him go for less than his £86m release clause.
