Liverpool could be set for a busy week in the transfer market – if the latest rumours are anything to go by. The Reds have been largely quiet in the transfer window this summer, but there is still plenty of time for that to change.

No new signings have been made by Liverpool so far this summer, but there has been some business completed. Fabio Carvalho has already left Anfield to complete a permanent move to Brentford, and there could be more players heading for the exit door in the days and weeks to come.

The deadline for Liverpool and other Premier League clubs to complete their transfer business is August 30. As a result, the next seven days could see the Reds step up their interest in potential targets or sanction the exits of existing members of the squad if they decide to do so.

In terms of incomings, one player who continues to be linked with Liverpool is Anthony Gordon. It was back in June that the Reds agreed a £75 million deal with the Magpies for Gordon, only for the move to fall through at the eleventh hour after the St James’ Park club managed to solve their financial concerns with other player sales.

Since then, rumours have continued to swirl that Liverpool could still be in the running to sign Gordon. If the interest is still there, then the Reds could look to swoop in and try to sign Gordon once again in the coming days ahead of next week’s deadline.

Another player linked with Liverpool is Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili. The Reds are considering a deal to sign the £30 million-rated shot-stopper this summer, who would then be expected to be loaned out for the season ahead.
