Liverpool have reportedly registered their interest in signing Crystal Palace midfielder Eberechi Eze this summer, though are set to face competition from other Premier League clubs.

Palace have already parted ways with one star player during the transfer window, having sold Michael Olise to Bayern Munich, and now face a battle to keep hold of another one of their shrewd EFL purchases.

Eze is understood to be on the radar of various, one of which is claimed to be Liverpool. A latest report by Football Insider has stated Arne Slot’s side have “registered interest” in the 26-year-old, with Tottenham Hotspur also following suit.

It is explained the Reds are among those “readying a more formal move” once the England international returns from his three-week break on the back of the Euro 2024 tournament in Germany he was part of.

Palace boss Oliver Glasner, speaking at the end of last season, was fully aware of the challenge attached with keeping hold of Eze and Olise this summer and told reporters in May of the duo: “It’s the job of the club to keep all the players. I know they’ll try everything possible. You never know how your squad will look when the next season starts. They’re amazing players, this is an amazing group.”

Eze penned a new contract at Palace back in November, extending his stay at Selhurst Park to 2027, ensuring it will prove harder for Liverpool and other interested parties if trying to negotiate a price with the Eagles. Palace fans will be all too aware this does not guarantee the future of the former QPR star, however, having seen Olise commit to the club last summer – only to then leave one year later after an offer from Bayern.
