Is Martin Zubimendi set to make a U-turn on Liverpool transfer decision?

According to reports in Spain, Martin Zubimendi wants to sign for Liverpool in January – just months after rejecting a move to Anfield.

In July, Sociedad accepted a £51m bid from Liverpool, however, the Reds’ move for the Euro 2024 winner fell through as he decided to stay put with his boyhood club.

However, Estadio Deportivo are reporting that after Sociedad’s below-par start to the season – one win from six La Liga games – Zubimendi has asked Liverpool to explore the possibility of signing him in January.

Chiesa pleased with debut

Federico Chiesa told his followers on social media how delighted he was to make his Liverpool debut.

The Italian came on in stoppage time during Tuesday’s 3-1 Champions League win over AC Milan.

Writing on Instagram, he said: “Happy to make my debut with @liverpoolfc! Great win in San Siro! [three arm flexing emojis] #uefachampionsleague.”

Premier League return for Matip?

Joel Matip has yet to find a new club after leaving Liverpool at the end of his contract this summer.

The defender is now being linked with a number of Premier League rivals, given his acquisiton would be free.

HITC claims Wolves, Bournemouth and Fulham are all interested in the centre-back, who turned 33 last month. The report states that clubs in Germany and France have meanwhile held talks.
