LFC TRANSFER TARGET: Nine players to look out for in Euro 2024: Before a potential summer transfer to Anfield
NICO SCHLOTTERBECK : and Borussia Dortmund
While Schlotterbeck did not play in Germany’s 5-1 victory over Scotland, he did travel to Euro 2024 with the expectation of contributing.
After an outstanding season with Borussia Dortmund, in which he participated in all but one of their games en route to the Champions League final, he was chosen.
Having excelled with Dortmund in the previous campaign, he is in the top percentile for every ball-playing metric, including tackles (93rd), interceptions (71st), and blocks (87th)
DAVID HANCKO – Feyenoord & Slovakia
Liverpool was reportedly interested in Hancko even before Arne Slot succeeded Jurgen Klopp as manager.
Having made 93 appearances in his past two campaigns, he fits the profile.
Portugal’s Goncalo Inacio and Sporting CP Another defender on the list, Inacio, was given his debut in November 2021 after progressing through the Portuguese junior divisions.
This summer, he will participate in his first international competition for Sporting after three successful seasons under Ruben Amorim. However, under Roberto Martinez, he might not start. Pepe, Ruben Dias, and Antonio Silva, a 20-year-old center-half for Benfica, are among his rivals for a starting position in Portugal’s defence.
Silva is a player to watch.
JOAO NEVES OF BENFICA
and Portugal Martinez has also trusted Neves, another gifted young player from Portugal, to fit into his senior team.
Many have even projected that the midfielder would start, which might mean that Ruben Neves and Matheus Nunes are not on the roster.
Liverpool’s attempt to sign him might be derailed by the rumoured release clause, which is worth more than £100 million.
JOHAN BAKAYOKO : of PSV Eindhoven and Belgium Bakayoko is one of those names that you hear a lot on online rumour pages, therefore we’ve placed him on this list because, if not Liverpool, he’ll probably end up at another elite team. He was a standout right winger for PSV this season, helping them win the Eredivisie.
In 47 games, he was on the right side of 14 goals and 14 assists. Bakayoko, a left-footed attacker with a keen eye for goal, matches the description of the right-sided attackers that Liverpool has previously been connected to this summer
