Jurgen Klopp provides injury update Thiago Alcantara, Szoboszlai and Bajcetic Boost spotted Ready in training ahead of Fulham clash
Thiago Alcantara is still to play for Liverpool this season.
Jurgen Klopp reaffirmed that Thiago Alcantara will still not be fit for Liverpool until the new year.
Thiago underwent hip surgery in April and has been ruled out of action since. The midfielder has briefly returned to training on a couple of occasions but continues to be troubled by his
Klopp revealed at the start of November that he expected the Spaniard to be absent for the remainder of 2023. Asked for an update on Thiago ahead of Liverpool’s clash against Fulham at Anfield on Sunday, the Liverpool manager said: “Nothing changed. We said that needs time and we will give him that time. As easy as that. [We] see him every day, he is still a fantastic guy who works hard to get back. That’s all.”
Speaking earlier this season, Liverpool assistant manager Pep Lijnders said: “We really miss him but that will take time, he will not be available. He is an unbelievable professional and an unbelievable guy. We hope to get him back soon.”
Jurgen Klopp is thrilled to have one of his injured players back in training and is impressed with their performance.
Kaide Gordon, who has been out with a long injury spell, has returned and is looking fantastic during training sessions. Although he hasn’t played for the first-team since February 2022, his presence on the bench for the last two Europa League games indicates that a full return is imminent. With Liverpool already securing their spot as group leaders, there is a possibility that the 19-year-old will feature in the upcoming match against Union SG. Klopp’s commitment to giving opportunities to all players in his squad is evident, and the return of an injured player only adds to his enthusiasm.
