Liverpool’s visit to Royale Union Saint-Gilloise in the Europa League ended in a 2-1 defeat for Jurgen Klopp’s

experimental side. Despite resting key players ahead of their Premier League clash with rivals Man Utd, Liverpool’s young team couldn’t overcome the challenge posed by Union Saint Gilloise.

With their place in the round of 16 already secured, Klopp opted to field a youthful squad, including three teenagers – Ben Doak, Kaide Gordon, and Luke Chambers. The team also featured 20-year-olds Harvey Elliott, Jarrell

Quansah, and Conor Bradley. Curtis Jones captained the side, while 30-year-old Wataru Endo was the oldest player in the lineup.

Although Quansah scored his first senior goal in the 40th minute, it wasn’t enough to secure a victory for Liverpool. The defeat marked their 14th different scorer this season, highlighting the team’s depth and talent.

Liverpool’s focus now shifts to their upcoming match against Man Utd, where they will look to continue their

impressive form in the Premier League. With the return of key players such as Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk, and Alisson Becker, Liverpool will be aiming to achieve a new landmark and maintain their position at the top of the table.
