Arsenal vs Liverpool. The FA Cup

Liverpool, coming off a strong 4-2 victory against Newcastle United, gear up to face Arsenal in the FA Cup.

Following a commanding 4-2 triumph over Newcastle United, Liverpool now turn their focus to the FA Cup clash against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium. Meanwhile, Arsenal ended 2023 with a 2-1 loss to Fulham, setting the stage for an intense showdown in the upcoming FA Cup fixture.

Jurgen Klopp will be opting for a 4-3-3 formation and is poised to rotate the squad with Alexis Mac Allister, Ryan Gravenberch, Cody Gakpo and Diogo Jota all waiting to make an appearance in the next fixture.

Defence

Alisson Becker will function in between the sticks for the Reds as he looks to earn a clean sheet at home. Virgil Van Dijk will play alongside Ibrahima Konate at the centre of the Liverpool backline as they try to keep the opposition at bay throughout the 90 minutes.

Trent-Alexander Arnold will operate as the right-back while Joe Gomez continues to impress on the other side as the left-back.

Midfield

Curtis Jones, Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch will operate as Klopp’s primary central midfielders as they try to establish their superiority over the opposition at the centre of the park. All three of them have to move the ball well if they want to create enough chances for the Merseyside club to earn a convincing win in this away encounter.

Harvey Elliot will be named on the bench as he waits for a chance to make an impact in the second 45 minutes if required.

Attack

Luis Diaz will try to catch the eye as the left-winger while Diogo Jota will look to put in an influential display on the right flank.

Cody Gakpo will spearhead the Merseyside club’s attack up top. The Netherlands international will have to carry most of the goal-scoring workload for his team.

Darwin Nunez will take a spot on the bench as he waits for a chance to impress in the final third.
