New footage of Joe Gomez grabbing Ben Chilwell after Conor Bradley incident shows exactly what happened

Fan footage of Joe Gomez grabbing Ben Chilwell after the Chelsea full-back clashed with Conor Bradley during Sunday’s Carabao Cup final has emerged.

Liverpool clinched a record-extending 10th title in the competition thanks to a dramatic late winner from captain Virgil van Dijk, who scored deep into extra-time.

There were plenty of talking points throughout at Wembley, including a heated incident towards the end of the first-half.

As you can see from the footage below, a frustrated Ben Chilwell pushed his opponent after Bradley tackled him to the ground with a rugby-style challenge.

Bradley would later appear to mock the Chelsea captain in an Instagram post.

A day later and the aftermath of Chilwell and Bradley’s clash emerged online, with fan footage showing how Liverpool defender Joe Gomez reacted to Sunday’s incident.

Gomez can be seen grabbing his fellow England international’s shirt before having a word with Chilwell, who tried to push Gomez in response.

The video also shows an altercation between Nicolas Jackson, Alexis Mac Allister and Cody Cakpo. In fact, Ibrahima Konate had to separate the trio as tempers flared.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the full-time whistle, Bradley was overcome with emotion.

“I don’t think I can actually put it into words,” he said. “It’s an incredible feeling and obviously I’ve supported this club since I was about five years old so to now win a trophy with them at Wembley, it’s special and I’m just buzzing.

“Thankfully I wasn’t on at the end because I don’t know if I could have kept my composure.

“The boys did brilliant and especially the young ones that came on, they showed real heart and they always wanted the ball and they always wanted to make something happen. So, full credit to the boys.”

Darwin Nunez reacts to his Carabao Cup celebration amid injury concerns

Darwin Nunez has responded to the viral video of him celebrating Virgil van Dijk’s winner in the Carabao Cup final amid injury concerns.

Leading up to the final on Sunday, Liverpool were sweating over the fitness of Nunez, who was substituted during their 4-1 win against Brentford.

Nunez subsequently missed Liverpool’s 4-1 win over Luton Town.

For the final, Nunez failed to make the squad alongside the likes of Mohamed Salah and Dominik Szoboszlai, meaning they had to watch from the stands.

With two minutes left of extra time, Liverpool captain Van Dijk headed in the winner from a Kostas Tsimikas corner.

The Dutchman’s goal sparked wild scenes from the Liverpool fans and also the Reds bench.

After the match, a video of Nunez racing down the stairs and climbing over the fence and advertising board to celebrate Van Dijk’s goal went viral.

Now, the Liverpool striker has responded, writing on social media: “Told you I would jump if we scored. What a game!”

From watching the video, the Uruguyan’s injury might not be as serious as Liverpool fans feared.

Speaking about Nunez’s celebration, Jurgen Klopp said: “Darwin and Dom are not fit, that’s why they didn’t play, but in the celebrations they looked 100 per cent. So I will have to speak with the medical department about that.”

Match winner Van Dijk said: “All the young boys on the pitch, if you see the extra-time, it’s incredible. I’m so proud of the team.

“An intense game for both sides, they had chances, we had chances and [it’s] amazing. First trophy as the Liverpool captain – it’s all for the fans so let’s enjoy it.”

He continued: “You should always savour the good moments and this is definitely one of them. We will never take these things for granted, we are very, very blessed and you see today as well that it could have been the other way, we could have lost.”

Liverpool will be back in action on Wednesday night as they host Southampton at Anfield in the FA Cup fifth round.
