Liverpool are optimistic about their chances of securing the services of Levi Colwill from Chelsea.

Despite Chelsea’s insistence that the defender is not available for transfer, Liverpool remains confident in their pursuit. Colwill, who showcased his talent during England’s successful European Under-21 Championship campaign, made a strong impression while on loan at Brighton & Hove Albion last season.

Despite Brighton’s unsuccessful attempts to secure his permanent signing, Colwill is reportedly uncertain about his future at Chelsea.

Mauricio Pochettino, Liverpool’s manager, expressed his interest in understanding Colwill’s aspirations and expectations, while also conveying his own expectations for the player.

Although Chelsea intends to extend Colwill’s contract, discussions have not progressed thus far.

Chelsea has made it clear to their squad that players unwilling to sign new contracts will be sold, as evidenced by the departures of Mason Mount and Mateo Kovacic this summer.

Liverpool believes they can entice Colwill away from Stamford Bridge and are prepared to make an offer for the talented defender.

While Liverpool has primarily focused on strengthening their midfield this transfer window, they are now turning their attention to defensive options, with a new center-back being a priority.

Colwill expressed his intention to consult with his family and make a decision regarding his future, emphasizing his desire to play and potentially earn a call-up to the England senior team.
