Plenty of Premier League sides remain in the Carabao Cup, with the quarter-final draw being held on Wednesday evening

The Carabao Cup trophy

The draw for the Carabao Cup quarter-final took place on Wednesday evening with Arsenal and Tottenham among the sides still in the competition.

After Southampton and Brentford booked their place in the last eight on Tuesday, six more teams joined them after playing on Wednesday. Arsenal comfortably beat Preston while Tottenham knocked Premier League champions Manchester City out of the League Cup following a 2-1 win at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Elsewhere, Liverpool, Manchester United, Crystal Palace and Newcastle also safely made it through to the quarter-final stage.

There were no restrictions whatsoever in the quarter-final draw, meaning we have been treated to some big ties with only Premier League teams left in the competition. The quarter-final fixtures are scheduled to be played on the week commencing December 16, with the final pencilled in for Sunday, March 16.

With that being said, see how the draw unfolded in football.london’s live blog below.
