Caitlin Clark’s teammate hilariously claps back at ROY’s golfing jibe, points to her Annika pro-am “shank”

Caitlin Clark was surprised when a reporter told her earlier in the season that Grace Berger was a high school state golf champion. While doing the interview, she called out her Indiana Fever teammate for hiding that information. The WNBA Rookie of the Year winner joked that the backup guard “barely” played for the team that won the title.

Clark took another hilarious shot at Berger this week before the Fever superstar participated in The Annika LPGA pro-am tournament in Florida. The No. 1 pick in the 2024 WNBA draft said that Berger “might be scared” of her. She added that her teammate’s golf game “must’ve gotten rusty.”

Grace Berger finally responded to Caitlin Clark’s trolling (via @444hater):

“If I hadn’t seen the video of the shank these photos would’ve convinced me that you could beat me.”

In the first nine holes of the golf tournament hosted by the legendary Annika Sorenstam, Clark played with Nelly Korda, the No. 1 ranked LPGA golfer. In one of her tees, the Indiana Fever point guard shanked a shot so badly that onlookers had to duck to avoid getting hit.

Berger wasn’t the only one among Clark’s WNBA teammates who poked fun at her. Erica Wheeler, an unrestricted free agent, commented about the wayward shot that promptly went viral.

Caitlin Clark and Grace Berger haven’t pitted skills on the greens yet. Perhaps the shank and Berger’s response could convince both to have a match on the fairways.

Caitlin Clark’s self-deprecating rumor shows up following her viral golf shank

Fans, Caitlin Clark critics or not, responded to the viral clip of the WNBA All-Star’s shank in The Annika pro-am tournament. The Iowa legend joined in on the trolling once the video got out and reacted:

“I’m so real”

She followed it up with:

“This is the greatest video ever.”

The NCAA Division 1 all-time leading scorer for men’s and women’s basketball is known to be fiercely competitive on the court. On the greens, she showed she could make fun of herself without hesitation.
