Nottingham Forest have reportedly presented a proposal to Arsenal-linked forward Santiago Gimenez.

Recent reports have claimed that the Gunners have been scouting Gimenez, who impressed under new Liverpool boss Arne Slot for Feyenoord last season. The Mexican scored 28 goals and provided eight assists in 41 appearances across all competitions.

Arsenal may be looking to sign a new striker this summer with Eddie Nketiah likely to leave, meaning that Mikel Arteta’s team won’t have another number nine in their squad. Kai Havertz has tended to be used as a false nine but despite scoring against Wolves on Saturday, the German only managed to net 14 times in the entirety of 2023/24.

And if they are to explore a deal for Gimenez, the Gunners may need to hasten their interest with Forest presenting a €25million (£21m) proposal according to Fox Sports, via Fabrizio Romano. “Nottingham Forest presented initial proSatiago Gimenez

Proposal worth over €25m but not enough for Feyenoord to accept as they want more. Negotiations continue.”

Gimenez is under contract at Feyenoord until 2027 having been signed by Slot in 2022. Speaking about his future to Dutch broadcaster Rijnmond, he said: “There is interest from other clubs, but nothing serious, no offer or anything like that. So, I focus on the here and now.
