🚨 PSG are leading the race to sign Mo Salah when his contract runs out this summer. They are set to tempt the 32-year old with a three-year contract. (Source: Sun Sport)
Mohamed Salah’s contract will expire at the end of the season, with his future becoming a major topic of discussion for boss Arne Slot in his meetings with the media
Arne Slot has laughed off requests for an update on Mohamed Salah’s contract talks after PSG launched a bid for the Egyptian.
Salah has starred under new boss Slot, scoring five goals in nine games in all competitions for Liverpool. But his contract at the Reds will expire at the end of the season, with the 32-year-old recently revealing talks are yet to start.
Salah’s future has been a key topic of conversation during Slot’s meetings with the media over the course of the campaign. He has refused to give much away though, with the Dutchman keen to keep matters behind closed doors.
Now, he has made an effort to put the conversation to bed before the Premier League enters an international break. Slot attempted to laugh off questions about contracts as he met the media before Saturday’s trip to Crystal Palace.
He responded: “Contracts?! (laughs) I was hoping in your last question that you didn’t use the word ‘contract’ because I was saying ‘Trent is doing like this and he is doing like this…’. It’s the same boring answer as always.
“I could really understand if you ask me this once every two weeks but if you ask me this after two or three days again then you still get the same answer and people feel that I’m boring them! So, try it after the international break again!”
Slot’s comments come as PSG launched a move to sign Salah on a free transfer. According to The Sun, the French giants are ready to hand the attacker a three-year deal on wages that would blow Liverpool out of the water.

Salah has become a target for French giants PSG
Salah will be free to negotiate with overseas clubs from the start of the January transfer window. The French side have moved away from their Galaticos transfer strategy in recent years, but the temptation of signing Salah may prove too great.
Salah is keen to remain playing at the top level, with PSG’s Qatari owners under pressure to bring in a superstar signing following the departure of Kylian Mbappe. Slot has made it clear he wants to keep Salah, with his latest goal coming against Bologna on Wednesday.
“What can I say about Mo? What you saw today is what you get. If you bring him often enough in positions like this, he can score a goal. He had a great assist as well. I think before Wolves, Mo played three games without scoring a goal,” he said.
“In football it can happen that sometimes in three games you score one or you don’t score. But these players, like Mo, like Darwin, like all the others, they will always score their goals if you just keep playing them – the thing is, I can’t play them all!
“But it’s good to have them and they will always score their goals. Mo has done really well today and I am happy with what he does at the moment. I am not looking forward to next season as long as we have six group games to play and hopefully many others to come afterwards.”
