UPDATE 🚨📢Liverpool held talks with ‘powerful’ Feyenoord player and are eyeing move for next summer👇

Arne Slot joined Liverpool from Feyenoord this summer, with the Dutch coach having a big impact already at Anfield.

Although just two signings were made in the form of Federico Chiesa and Giorgi Mamardashvili, the Reds have been fantastic this season, with Slot guiding Liverpool to the top of the Premier League and getting off to a winning start in the UEFA Champions League.

With the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ryan Gravenberch and Luis Diaz looking outstanding already this season, Slot has not needed any time to get the best out of the best players at Liverpool left behind by Jurgen Klopp.

Yet it appears that Slot could now be working to bring in one of his former players from Feyenoord.

Liverpool in talks for Feyenoord captain Quinten Timber

According to TeamTalk, Liverpool are interested in Feyenoord skipper Quinten Timber, with talks already taking place between the Reds and the Dutch international over a potential move in January.

The twin brother of Arsenal defender Jurrien Timber, the Feyenoord midfielder is regarded as one of the best players in the Eredivisie having become captain at the Rotterdam-based club and broken into the Dutch national team.

Noted as a ‘powerful’ midfielder, Timber would be a welcome signing for Liverpool having missed out on Martin Zubimendi this summer, with the Reds still looking for cover in the position despite some great performances this season from Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister.

And with Liverpool already in talks to sign Timber, there’s a real chance that the Reds could convince the 23-year-old to make the move to Anfield, especially with the midfielder previously working under Slot at Feyenoord

Timber would be a fantastic fit for Liverpool under Slot

Having won the Eredivisie title and the KNVB Cup under Slot, it makes sense why Liverpool could now be readying a move for Timber in January, with midfield a position the Anfield side need to add to if they’re to challenge for silverware.

And for the Dutch international himself, Timber could be an outstanding fit for Liverpool, with the 23-year-old capable of playing multiple roles in the midfield with the Dutch international also having an eye for goal.

Indeed, Timber is ready for the Premier League with his twin brother now a regular for Arsenal, and Liverpool could be the ideal destination for the Feyenoord superstar if a move was to happen in 2025.
