Liverpool made €92m offer for Florian Wirtz

According to Deutsche Welle, Liverpool have already made concrete offers for a sought after German international.
It’s on all Liverpool fans’ minds at the moment that Mohamed Salah’s coveted Liverpool career could be nearing its end.Salah is one of three Liverpool stars whose contract is up come summer 2025.

Homegrown talent Trent Alexander-Arnold and colossal defender Virgil van Dijk are also nearing their contract end.

With only three months left before the three mainstays in the Liverpool eleven can begin pre contract talks with foreign clubs, the future is looking uncertain.

Despite reports that new contract talks for Salah are being prepared by the club, Liverpool have surely got their eye on the future of the club also.

Salah himself has confirmed previously that it’s his last year at Liverpool.

Even if Salah did extend his stay beyond summer 2025, the now 32 year old Egyptian’s impact will need replacement at some point.

And it seems that they made a move

According to Deutsche Welle, Liverpool have already made concrete offers for a sought after German international.

The Spanish edition of the newspaper cites a report from German outlet Kicker and states an offer was made by Liverpool for £77.7 million (€92 million) for Florian Wirtz of Bayer Leverkusen in January.

The talented German boasted an impressive display in the recent UEFA Euro 2024 competition and has been lighting up the Bundesliga for a while now.

Wirtz scoring in the quarter finals, but Germany couldn’t fend off future champions Spain.

The now Arsenal’s Mikel Merino grabbed a late winner and proceeded to the semi final.

Wirtz was, of course, a big part of Leverkusen’s domestically undefeated season.

The playmaker grabbed an extremely impressive 18 goals and 20 assists in all competitions as he helped the club win their historic first Bundesliga title in their history.

Liverpool are believed to have the funds available to facilitate such a high profile signing if they want to.

This was evident when the club submitted an over £100 million offer for Moises Caicedo in summer 2023.

It is reported by Bayern Munich also made attempts for Alonso’s main man, with Wirtz turning down all offers in favour of staying put at the club.

Liverpool may look to return to the table in the future for Florian Wirtz.

An immensely talented player, he could be a long term successor to Salah at Anfield.

Whether he will look to remain at Leverkusen or will prefer another club remains to be seen.
