Liverpool transfer deadline day news LIVE: Joe Gomez and Alan Varela stance as ‘private jet sent’
Liverpool transfer news as deadline day arrives amid links to Alan Varela and claims of interesting movement from the private jet used to fly Federico Chiesa to Merseyside

Liverpool’s transfer window has burst into life in the past week – could more business now follow on deadline day?Things have ramped up at Anfield in the last week. The Reds completed a deal for Giorgi Mamardashvili on Tuesday night, then followed that up by confirming the signing of Federico Chiesa on Thursday.

Teams have until 11pm today (6pm EST) to register any new deals with the Premier League. Facing a race against time, Liverpool has been linked with some late moves with midfield and defense still obvious priorities.

Porto star Alan Varela and Olympiakos ace Santiago Hezze have both been linked as midfield options. In the case of Hezze, its even been claimed the same private jet which flew Chiesa to Anfield is en route to Athens.

Nat Phillips is leaving Liverpool on yet another loan deal. He’s agreed a temporary move to Derby County.

That’s per Paul Joyce. Derby, managed by Paul Warne, has begun its Championship campaign with a win and two defeats.

Phillips briefly broke into the Liverpool side in 2020/21, impressing amid an injury crisis. But a permanent departure has proved elusive, and he has spent loan spells at Bournemouth, Celtic and Cardiff

Interest in the Liverpool youngster has been substantial. But Hull City and Middlesbrough now appear to be leading the chase.

Liverpool and Hull have enjoyed a fruitful loan relationship recently. Tyler Morton and Fabio Carvalho both impressed there last season.
