BREAKING NEWS LFC TRANSFER LIVE: Gomez leaves for £50m, trio raise extra £70m – Liverpool’s dream transfer clear out

Liverpool could bring in plenty of cash if they have a dream clear out before the summer transfer window closes.

Liverpool defender Joe Gomez was left out of the Reds squad for their trip to Ipswich on Saturday

Liverpool could raise £120million if they offload a string of stars before the summer transfer window slams shut at the end of the month. Reds boss Arne Slot is yet to make any purchases since taking the reins from predecessor Jurgen Klopp ahead of the new campaign but will be desperate to raise funds for a future splurge.

Liverpool are among the title favourites once again this term and began the season with a 2-0 victory over Ipswich on Saturday.

But Slot and the Reds transfer chiefs will have one eye on bolstering the club’s transfer kitty in the coming days by sanctioning departures.

Joe Gomez appears to be coming to the end of his Liverpool career after being left out of the Reds squad against Ipswich.

The centre-back was part of England’s Euro 2024 squad but has fallen down the pecking order at Anfield in recent seasons and now finds himself behind the likes of Ibrahima Konate and Jarell Quansah.

Liverpool may not be in a rush to sell the 27-year-old as he still has three years remaining on his contract and can provide Slot with a back-up option at left-back and right-back as well as centrally. But if a suitable offer comes in for the Englishman, the club would jump at the chance to bring in some cash.

Liverpool keeper Caoimhin Kelleher is said to be attracting interest from Juventus

Gomez has proven in the past that he has what it takes to succeed at the top of the game, but there are still question marks over whether the ace can rediscover the form he showed before he ruptured his patellar knee tendon in 2020.

With the likes of Aston Villa needing squad depth after their return to the Champions League and Newcastle aiming to compete with the best teams in the country, Liverpool may be hoping a rival club panics ahead of the transfer deadline and tables a bid of £50m.

Meanwhile, Liverpool could consider moving Wataru Endo on after rejecting an £11.8m bid from Marseille at the end of last month. The 31-year-old midfielder impressed during his maiden campaign in England but may have a limited shelf life at the top of the game. And a £20m bid could be enough to turn the heads of Reds chiefs.
