BREAKING NEWS: Journalist Says Arsenal Have Agreed To Sign £110M Striker But Rival Has Offered “Significantly Higher” Salary

Arsenal have found an agreement with Napoli to sign Victor Osimhen, according to Radio reporter,

the journalist said that the Gunners have managed to “satisfy the financial requests” of Napoli but there is still a major obstacle to overcome.

Paris Saint-Germain are thought to have offered a “significantly higher” salary to Osimhen, and that gives the French club major leverage in negotiations.

Di Giovambattista claims it is now very much a coin toss as to who will eventually secure the signature of the Nigerian international, with PSG still having failed to find a breakthrough in talks with Napoli.

How can Arsenal afford Osimhen?

The 25-year-old has a €130m (£110m) release clause in his contract so fans would be forgiven for thinking that the striker is outside the club’s price range.

However, it has emerged in recent days that Napoli would be open to loaning Osimhen out, as long as there is a mandatory clause to purchase him at the end of the season.

Trusted journalist David Ornstein confirmed earlier this week that Chelsea were trying to negotiate a similar deal, albeit with an option to buy.

The Gunners can’t compete with PSG on wages

It should be pointed out that, up until very recently, the Ligue One champions were paying Kylian Mbappe in excess of £1m a week. In stark contrast, Arsenal’s highest earner is Kai Havertz, who takes home £280,000 a week.

A lot will, therefore, depend on Osimhen’s desire to play in the Premier League. In the past, he has publicly expressed that he is keen on playing in England, but the money on the table could tempt him into moving to Paris instead. It’s a transfer story that may run and run until the closing days of the transfer window.
