Anthony Gordon signed, £50m deal and Bayern Munich agreement – Liverpool dream 25-man squad

Latest Liverpool transfer news and gossip as the Reds continue to be linked with several new signings during the summer transfer window

Liverpool still have plenty of room to work with to build their dream squad for the next Premier League season. The Reds are yet to complete any new signings but are continuing to be linked with possible additions to the squad.

Premier League clubs are able to name a 25-man squad for the season ahead, which usually gets confirmed after the transfer window closes. Last year, Liverpool confirmed their list in September and that is likely to happen again this time around.

This summer has already seen some departures from the Liverpool squad that were named last year. Thiago Alcantara, Joel Matip, Adrian and Paul Glatzel have all left the club and will leave four spots on a squad that only included 22 last season.

Liverpool are only able to name 17 players that are not classed as homegrown on their squad. The Reds are also not required to name players on the squad that are Under-21, which is deemed a player as being born after January 1, 2003.

For this reason, the likes of Conor Bradley, Jarell Quansah, Harvey Elliott and Stefan Bajcetic do not need to be included in the squad this season. There is also room for Liverpool to make further signings that are not homegrown if necessary, too.

Gleison Bremer and Joshua Kimmich are two players who have been linked with Liverpool in recent weeks. Both players could be added to the Reds squad for the forthcoming campaign, and provide welcome depth to Arne Slot in his first season as head coach.
