Anthony Gordon and four other players Liverpool are tipped to sign after Premier

With the Premier League’s PSR deadline passed, Arne Slot will be looking to put his stamp on Liverpool by making movements in the open transfer

Anthony Gordon is one player Liverpool are currently tipped to sign this summer

With the 2023/24 campaign coming to an official end, Liverpool are being tipped for a busy summer of transfer activity to prepare for the next.

Of course, the Reds completed their playing duties a number of weeks ago. Emotional goodbyes were said to the likes of Jurgen Klopp, his coaching staff, Joel Matip and Thiago Alcantara and the time that has elapsed since has allowed ample opportunity to come to terms with those exits and welcome in new head coach Arne Slot.

But as the official ruling goes, the move between June 30 and July 1 marks the start of a new Premier League season. This has been particularly tracked in great detail due to the nature of the league’s financial rules, which a number of clubs have fought hard to adhere to prior to yesterday’s deadline.

Liverpool personally have had no worries as FSG run the club within its means, though they have still found themselves caught up in the drama amid Newcastle United’s attempts to raise funds. That means they enter preparations for a new Anfield era in a strong position, though one that prompts intrigue as only speculation has so far fuelled ideas of where Slot and Co will look to strengthen.

Anthony Gordon, Newcastle United – 5/4 FAV

As alluded to, Liverpool’s summer of transfer rumours truly kicked off this weekend when reports emerged of negotiations for Anthony Gordon. The former Everton attacker would reluctantly be sold by Newcastle in order to boost their financial standing, and it was said the Reds rejected their rivals’ proposal as it included the swap of highly-rated Jarell Quansah. With this latest activity, they have been made the favourites to secure this deal ahead of Chelsea and Arsenal.

Ollie Watkins, Aston Villa – 5/1 FAV

At the start of the summer, suggestions of an ambitious move for Aston Villa’s talisman were made, resulting in Liverpool being installed as favourites for Ollie Watkins. He was the Premier League’s top combined goalscorer and creator last season as his club clinched fourth place and Champions League qualification. Again, Arsenal follow closely behind in the bookmakers’ ranking.

Crysencio Summerville, Leeds United – 10/3

Crysencio Summerville has caught the eye at Anfield ever since netting Leeds United’s unlikely 89th-minute winner there in October 2022. Since then, he has taken the Championship by storm, recording 20 goals and nine assists in 46 appearances last season. As his club missed out on promotion, the Dutchman has been tipped to sign for a side in the Premier League, with the Reds second in the running behind Brighton (2/1) as things stand.

Pedro Neto, Wolves – 7/1

Pedro Neto has plenty of pros and cons to delve into for the numerous top-level Premier League teams linked with a move for the Wolves attacker. The 24-year-old has proven himself in England over the last five years, managing to score once against Liverpool during this time, but not without his heavy injury troubles. The Reds are rated 7/1 behind Manchester City (11/4) plus Arsenal and Spurs (both 4/1).

Victor Gyokeres, Sporting CP – 8/1

If Slot looks to make the daring move to find a central striker with the potential to oust Darwin Nunez from the Reds’ starting XI, then he is also being tipped to look towards Portugal. Former Coventry City man Victor Gyokeres grabbed 43 goals and 15 assists in all competitions in his first year with Sporting CP, so he has understandably found himself back on the radar of English clubs. Liverpool are 8/1 behind Arsenal (2/1) and Chelsea (6/1) for the Swede’s signature.
