Liverpool are reportedly ready to part ways with Luis Diaz this summer and have reduced their asking price for the Colombian amid Barcelona interest.

Having joined Liverpool in the winter of 2022, Diaz has been through hot and cold phases under Jurgen Klopp. However, the winger was one of Liverpool’s top performers in his last season at Anfield. Still, that hasn’t prevented the Reds from reducing the Colombian’s asking price this summer as Barcelona look to complete a deal for Diaz. They had earlier set an asking price of €120 million (£102m/$131m) but have now set a more realistic asking price.

As per Diario AS, the Reds have reduced their asking price for the Colombian to €75m (£63.8m), a fee that would still be almost impossible for Barcelona to trigger due to their issues with economic freedom. The Catalans will need to offload members from their squad if they’re to be as active as they would like to be in the transfer window, meaning a deal for Diaz will likely have to wait.

DID YOU KNOW?

Diaz isn’t the only winger on Barcelona’s radar; they have been linked with Athletic Club’s Nico Williams. However, reports have suggested that sporting director Deco rates Diaz over the Basque winger.

WHAT NEXT FOR DIAZ?

Diaz’s future will only be decided after the conclusion of Copa America. The 27-year-old will be acting out his national duties with Colombia.
