RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko has been heavily linked with Arsenal in recent weeks, with the latest reports from the English media suggesting he favours a mo

But a deal is far from done, with Arsenal yet to commit to the transfer and open negotiations with Leipzig.

It may not be long now, as Florian Plettenberg reports that all parties involved want a decision before the Euros.

Sesko has been called up by Slovenia, and his €65m (£55.4m) release clause will expire during the tournament, so it makes sense to get the deal done quickly.

On that note, it’s worth mentioning that Sesko and his agent have been in London this week, with the player’s representative sharing a picture of the two of them (shown above) at the Champions League final on Saturday night.

There are no guarantees the trip had anything to do with Arsenal, perhaps they just genuinely wanted to see the final of Europe’s biggest competition.

But if the two of them are already in the area, you’d think it would make sense to hold some conversations with the Gunners about their summer

As for the options on the table for Sesko, the 20-year-old won’t be moving to Saudi Arabia, despite offers. He’ll either extend his RB Leipzig deal or move on, with Arsenal among the Premier League clubs interested.

Sesko’s release clause expires at the end of June, and Sam Dean of The Telegraph recently reported that Arsenal have a strong interest in him.

Rival suitors for the player reportedly believe Arsenal are in pole position for the signing, with the Gunners prioritising a move to strengthen their squad in forward areas in the upcoming window.

Among those rival suitors are Manchester United and Chelsea, and there have also been reports of interest from AC Milan.

Sesko scored 18 goals and provided two assists in 42 games (22 starts) this season, averaging a goal or assist every 103 minutes. He ended the season with goals in seven consecutive Bundesliga fixtures.
