BRE VS LIV: Match Preview, Kick-Off Time, Team News, And Possible Starting Lineup
This Saturday, the Gtech Community Stadium will be electric as high-flying Liverpool visit Brentford in an intriguing Premier League clash. The Bees, buzzing after a morale-boosting win over Wolves, face a stern test against the league leaders, seeking to continue their title charge.
The Reds regained their rightful position at the top of the table by overcoming Burnley 3-1 last weekend, while the Bees eased any growing relegation fears with a 2-0 success at Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Thomas Frank’s men have surprised many this season, sitting comfortably in mid-table. Their last outing showcased their resilience, grinding out a 2-0 victory against Wolves. Ivan Toney, in scintillating form, grabbed a goal, while Christian Norgaard’s header sealed the deal. Brentford’s high-pressing style and tactical flexibility pose a genuine threat to any opponent.
Jurgen Klopp’s Reds remain the team to beat. Despite a slight wobble against Arsenal, they are still on top of the table and boast an attacking force that strikes fear into any defense. Diogo Dalot continues to dazzle, while the return of Mohamed Salah adds another dimension to their already potent attack.
Kick Off Time
The match is set to kick off by 1:30 pm on Saturday and will be broadcast live on different sports channels.
Team News
Liverpool is boosted by the return of Mohamed Salah, who has been out for some weeks now after picking up an injury in the just-concluded African Cup of Nations.
The Egyptian winger is back in full training after his recovery from a muscular injury and should be in contention to start against the Bees on Saturday.
In addition to Salah’s return, both Alisson Becker and Joe Gomez have recovered from illness, while Ibrahima Konate is back from a one-game suspension after the defender was sent off at Arsenal having picked up two yellow cards.
Liverpool still faces issues on the backline, as Trent Alexander-Arnold damaged his knee once again in the 3-1 victory over Burnley, and the right-back’s latest injury is expected to keep him sidelined until after the EFL Cup final on February 25 according to SportsMole.
Ibrahima Konate is available again after suspension and should partner Virgil van Dijk at the back, while Alisson Becker is set to return as well after missing the win over Burnley due to illness.
The match will come too soon for Dominik Szoboszlai, who continues to battle a hamstring issue, and Thiago Alcantara is out with a muscle injury.
Predicted Liverpool XI: Alisson; Bradley, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Endo, Mac Allister, Jones; Diaz, Nunez, Jota
Injured: Alexander-Arnold, Szoboszlai, Thiago, Bajcetic, Matip, Doak
Doubt: Salah
