An injury update has been provided regarding Mohamed Salah amidst the intense Premier League title race involving Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester City. The Egyptian Football Association (FA) has released a statement following Salah’s injury during a group stage match in the Africa Cup of Nations, which resulted in a scan.

Salah, the prolific goal scorer for Liverpool, has suffered a back injury. Initially, there were concerns that he had sustained a serious hamstring injury. However, the scan has confirmed that the problem is isolated to his back. Despite this injury scare, Salah is expected to make a swift return to Premier League action once Egypt’s involvement in the Africa Cup of Nations concludes.

Although Salah will miss Egypt’s crucial final group stage match against Cape Verde and the Round of 16 knockout match if they advance, he could potentially be available to face Chelsea in the Premier League on January 31st. This news could come as a relief to title rivals like Arsenal, who may have hoped for a boost in their pursuit of the league title.

Egypt currently sits in second place in Group B with two points. They must secure a victory in their final group stage encounter against Cape Verde to advance to the knockout rounds. If they manage a draw, they will be relying on Mozambique to avoid defeat against their opponents.
