Andy Robertson Liverpool injury update as return timescale set out ahead of Scotland Euro 2024 campaign

The full back has been sidelined since damaging his shoulder during a 2-0 defeat against Spain back in October.

Scotland captain Andy Robertson is battling back from a shoulder injury
Andy Robertson hasn’t been dealt any further setbacks in his quest to return from a serious injury – and could even be back among Liverpool training before the end of the month.

Robertson has been sidelined following a collision with Spain goalkeeper Unai Simón during Scotland’s 2-0 European Championship qualifying defeat in Seville on October 12 last year. He has since received surgery and is believed to be progressing well throughout his individual rehabilitation programme.

And the Daily Mail report that Robertson, 29, could ramp up his recovery by joining first team training within the next couple weeks, with a view of being back around the squad before January ends or by early February at the latest.

That news sparks a major boost for Steve Clarke’s Scotland with the national team boss eager to have all his key assets available ahead of their Euro 2024 warm up games in March.

Liverpool assistant manager Pep Lijnders confirmed last week that Robertson was due to meet a shoulder specialist to see how the strength was improving. Once that occurs, then the timeline of a return should be clearer.

At the moment, there’s been minimal concerns and it’s more a case that Liverpool don’t want to risk any further issues to Robertson because fellow left-back Kostas Tsimikas is also on the treatment table after suffering a collarbone blow.
