Arsenal: Mikel Arteta would like to sign Jurrien Timber’s twin brother

According to several reports, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is being closely linked to a move for his summer signing Jurrien Timber’s twin brother.

Arsenal look to get back to winning ways on Sunday. They remain unbeaten in the Premier League, but suffered an unfortunate group stage loss in the Champions League on Tuesday night. The opposition doesn’t get any easier, as it’s the champions Manchester City who visit the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

One player who would love to play is the injured Jurrien Timber. The summer signing was exceptional for the Gunners when he played City in the Community Shield in pre-season. In truth, in the few appearances he made for Arsenal before becoming injured, Jurrien Timber was the best player. So his injury was a big blow and Mikel Arteta will hope to have him back sooner.

Speaking of Jurrien, it’s come to Mikel Arteta’s attention that his twin brother Quinten Timber, is also in fine form. Playing for Feyenoord, Timber was heavily involved in the move for his twin brother, as he and his family travelled to London Colney when the deal was happening. Certainly, there’s a close family bond in the Timber family.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is interested in signing Quinten Timber
According to a report from 90min, Arsenal are among the clubs interested in signing Quinten Timber in January. Although, they will face competition from Liverpool and Manchester United.

Given that Timber already knows a lot about the club from witnessing his twin brother’s move, there’s nothing to stop Edu from working his charm again. After all, a rapport has already been built with the player.

Looking at Timber as a player in his own right, he’s an exceptional midfielder. Playing last night in the Champions League against Atletico Madrid, his fine midfield display was worthy of a win.
