Tottenham 0-0 Everton
Sky Sports’ Joe Shread at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium:
“Bright start from Everton. Garner is the No 10 and, alongside Calvert-Lewin, they’re causing the Spurs defence a few early headaches.
“Everton’s plan looks to be to find Calvert-Lewin early and often.”

Tottenham 0-0 Everton
3: Pickford immediately goes long seeking Calvert-Lewin, who is penalised for a foul on Romero and he gingerly gets back to his feet.
Everton are playing Garner off Calvert-Lewin in the continued absence of Doucoure with Harrison on the right.

First Half
KICK OFF! It’s Tottenham who get us up and running, shooting towards the South Stand.
Dyche had flipped the opposition away from home on 12 of the previous 18 away occasions, so James Tarkowski you imagine has won the toss again.

Everton to make it five in a row?
Sky Sports’ Joe Shread at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium:
“A reminder that Spurs will be in the top four at Christmas if they win today.
“Meanwhile, an Everton victory will hand them their fifth successive top-flight away win.
“The last time they did that was in 1970. They won the league that year.”

Can Spurs keep it simple?
Paul Merson on Soccer Saturday:
“Everton have been doing the simple things better than any other team in the Premier League. That’s what Tottenham need to do today. If they get the basics right, then I think they win this game.”

Can Branthwaite underline his credentials?
Michael Dawson on Soccer Saturday:
“He’s made a difference since he’s come into the Everton team. Dyche has put his trust in him to come straight back in after suspension.
“He came in as a young lad, he went out on loan and he’s done his hard yards. He’s shown that he can do it at different levels, from the EFL to PSV.
“I saw him playing for England U21s and he can do it all. He can put his body on the line but he can also play at the right time as well.”

Kulusevski key for Spurs?
Former Wimbledon striker Efan Ekoku told Sky Sports:
“Within the parameters of good team work, giving Kulusevksi freedom as a No 8/10 or a winger is the right approach.
“You can’t give a player too much freedom. Kulusevski is happy because he’s playing for a coach who is allowing him to play but he knows he has to win matches while entertaining the fans.
“So they need the balance of being entertaining while also being successful.
“The fans here have really taken to him and they are really engaged with the football on show right now which is in large since his arrival.”

Opta stats – Part Two
Coming into this round of games, only Tottenham themselves (18) have earned more away points than Everton (16) in the Premier League this season. The Toffees are looking to win five consecutive top-flight away games for the first time since April 1970, a season in which they won the league title.
Tottenham have had four red cards in their 17 Premier League games this season, as many as they had in their previous two campaigns combined. They last had more sent off in 2008-09 (5).
Everton manager Sean Dyche has lost five of his six Premier League away games against Tottenham, with the exception being a 1-1 draw at Wembley in August 2017. He’s lost both of his visits to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium by an aggregate score of 9-0.
Richarlison has scored three goals in his last two Premier League games, more than he had in his first 39 appearances for Tottenham (2). He could become the 13th different player to score against Everton in the Premier League having previously played for the Toffees in the competition, and first since Joshua King in October 2021.

Dyche must ‘wait and see’ if he can strengthen his Everton squad in January
Sean Dyche has stressed it is a case of having to “wait and see” in terms of what Everton might do in the January transfer window.
The Toffees are currently 16th in the Premier League, seven points above the relegation zone, after last month being deducted 10 points for breaching profitability and sustainability rules.
Club owner Farhad Moshiri signed an agreement with American investment firm 777 Partners in September to acquire his controlling stake in the club, a deal that is still to be ratified.
Asked on Thursday if there was scope to add to the squad in January, Everton boss Dyche said: “We don’t know. At this current time we’ll be sitting tight and seeing what can be done.
“Squad-wise – I think when everyone is fit, we’ve got a good squad, a balanced squad. The depth of it is in question because of injuries and because of the game schedule. There’s a very thick set of games over December, the amount, the turnaround, so that has affected us unfortunately.
“But regarding the finance, we’ll have to wait and see.”
