HIGHLIGHTS – PLAYER’S RATING Key Moments – Player Evaluation: Crystal Palace 1-2 Liverpool – Mohamed Salah Achieves Milestone Goal as Reds Stage a Comeback to Defeat 10-Man Eagles and Secure Top Spot

Mohamed Salah scored his 200th goal for Liverpool and 150th in the Premier League as Liverpool fought back to beat 10-man Crystal Palace 2-1 to move top of the Premier League. The win sees them above Arsenal in the table, who can re-claim top spot if they beat Aston Villa later on Saturday. Jean-Philippe Mateta opened the scoring from the penalty spot but then Salah and Harvey Elliot scored.

Harvey Elliott struck a stoppage-time winner and Mohamed Salah netted a landmark 200th goal for Liverpool as Jurgen Klopp’s men came from behind to secure a 2-1 victory at 10-man Crystal Palace and move top of the Premier League.

The visitors were dominant but toothless throughout the first half and it was The Eagles who posed the greater threat. First, the returning Alisson produced a miraculous save to deny Jefferson Lerma before an on-field review saw a penalty awarded to Palace eventually overturned for a foul on Wataru Endo in the build-up.

Salah’s deflected strike 60 seconds later seeing him become only the fifth Reds player to plunder 200 goals for the club across all competitions. It also took the Egyptian to 150 Premier League goals overall.

The visitors moved up a gear from that moment on and substitute Elliott fired a wonderful winner from 20 yards out to steal the points in injury time.

The result means The Merseysiders move a point above second-placed Arsenal who take on third-placed Aston Villa later this evening. Palace remain 14th, seven points above the drop zone.

Liverpool will now switch their attention to their final UEFA Europa League Group E match at Union Saint-Gilloise prior to hosting Manchester United in the Premier League next Sunday. Crystal Palace visit champions Manchester City on Saturday

‘Reloaded’ Liverpool team came up with the solutions when staring defeat in the face. Yes, they had a helping hand, but the Merseysiders keep digging out results from losing positions and are very much looking like worthy title contenders this term.

PLAYER OF THE MATCH

Harvey Elliott (Liverpool). There have been signs that this sort of match-winning impact was coming from the 20-year-old as he continues to catch the eye emerging from the bench. The England U21 midfielder always adds real energy to a game and it was needed here with Liverpool so pedestrian for long spells.
