3 times Declan Rice made crucial goal-line clearances to save Arsenal

On more than one occasion this season, Rice has made goal-line clearances to literally save Arsenal. That’s not a skill-set defensive midfielders are usually known for – that’s something we see defenders and, of course, goalkeepers do.

However, with Rice, every single game shows us a new facet of his game.

He made a crucial goal-line clearance in the 1-0 win over Brentford to help Ramsdale keep a clean sheet.

In the screenshots below, one can see Rice not panicking after Ramsdale veered out of the net and lost the ball. Instead, he immediately ran towards the empty goal. In other words, he was at the right place at the right time.

Rice also did it during a Manchester United corner, where we beat them 3-0. There was also a big moment against Manchester City, where he denied them what should have been a goal.
