Fluminense president Mario Bittencourt has admitted that he expects Arsenal and Liverpool target Andre Trindade to leave the club in the upcoming January transfer window.

Andre, 22, has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League recently after his impressive displays in Brazil. It’s been reported that the Gunners ‘like the look of Andre’, with Mikel Arteta and Edu Gaspar drawing up further midfield reinforcements.

Thomas Partey’s injury issues have kept the Ghana international out of action for the majority of the season and captain Martin Odegaard has recently missed two games due to injury.

Following Fluminense’s Copa Libertadores victory over Boca Juniors, Andre revealed that his future will be decided at the end of the Brazilian season on December 6. Speaking to The Guardian, he said: “I follow the Premier League a lot.

“It’s a very competitive league that demands a lot from players. But today my dream is to live day by day here in Fluminense. I don’t know what will happen in the future; I have a long contract at Fluminense and I really like being here.”

Now, Bittencourt has revealed he expects to receive a club-record bid for Andre following the FIFA Club World Cup. Fluminense will participate in the competition for the first time in their history – with their first game scheduled for December 18.

“We are waiting. Today, there is no concrete proposal for Andre,” he told Globo. “But we are sure that after the World Cup – he will play in the World Cup – a stratospheric proposal will arrive.

“It could be the biggest sale in the club’s history. We could possibly lose both (Andre and defender Nino), but we are working to replace them.”
