Liverpool have reportedly reached a verbal agreement with Andre Trindade.

 

Meanwhile, elsewhere on the transfer front, a report from France claims that Liverpool believe they can complete a stunning move for Kylian Mbappe. The Reds are also once again being linked with a move for Arthur Vermeeren.

 

Speaking on Friday morning at the club’s AXA training complex Jurgen Klopp confirmed Thiago Alcantara and Stefan Bajcetic are no closer to a return, while Andy Robertson remains sidelined.

Erling Haaland latest

Pep Guardiola says he didn’t want to “take risks” with Erling Haaland after the forward was substituted at half-time of Manchester City’s 6-1 win over Bournemouth – just weeks before facing Liverpool.

 

Haaland started the clash at the Etihad as goals from Jeremy Doku, Bernardo Silva (2), Manuel Akanji, Phil Foden and Nathan Ake secured victory for City, but the striker was replaced by Foden at half-time after appearing to limp down the tunnel.

 

The Norwegian, who scored 36 goals during an astonishing debut campaign in the Premier League last term, is at risk of missing City’s upcoming Champions League game against Young Boys on Tuesday but is expected to return to action for next Sunday’s trip to Chelsea.

 

Speaking after the victory, Guardiola said on Haaland:”[He had a] twist in the ankle, we didn’t want to take risks with him he didn’t feel comfortable. He’ll be back maybe Tuesday but maybe next Sunday.”

 

City are currently top of the Premier League, albeit having played a game more than Tottenham and Arsenal, and travel to Stamford Bridge next weekend to face Chelsea. After the international break, Liverpool will make the short journey to the Etihad to contest the latest Premier League meeting between the two sides.

 

Liverpool will hope to make the trip to Manchester on November 25 off the back of four consecutive Premier League victories, with recent wins over Everton and Nottingham Forest hoped to be followed up with triumphs against Luton Town and Brentford in the next eight days.

Erling Haaland substituted with injury?

Erling Haaland is facing a spell on the sidelines and could be a doubt to face Liverpool later this month after he was substituted with a minor injury in Manchester City’s 4-0 victory over Bournemouth.

Real Madrid deny Kylian Mbappe transfer talks

Real Madrid have denied that any transfer talks have taken place between themselves and Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe.

 

A statement published on Saturday afternoon read: “Given information in the media about negotiations between the player Kylian Mbappé and our club, Real Madrid state that this information is categorically false”.

 

“Negotiations have not taken place with a player who belongs to PSG.”

Liverpool 16-year-old winger scores hat-trick as summer signing makes statement

Kieran Morrison scored an impressive hat-trick as Liverpool kept up the pressure at the top of the U18 Premier League North.

 

Morrison, who only turns 17 next week, netted once in the first half and twice after the break as the young Reds earned a 3-1 triumph over Middlesbrough at the Academy on Saturday afternoon.

 

Goalkeeper Kornel Misciur, signed in the summer from Hull City, saved a penalty as Marc Bridge-Wilkinson’s side responded to two successive defeats by moving to within three points of leaders Manchester United in second place.

Andre Trindade set for biggest Fluminense test

Liverpool-linked midfielder Andre Trindade will aim to win the biggest trophy in South American football when Fluminense face Boca Juniors in the Copa Libertadores final on Saturday.

 

The 22-year-old Brazilian, who was the subject of interest from the Reds in August, has been speaking about Saturday’s final and the possibility of leaving his boyhood club in the new year.

 

“I follow the Premier League a lot,” said Andre. “It’s a very competitive league that demands a lot from players. But today my dream is to live day by day here in Fluminense. I don’t know what will happen in the future; I have a long contract at Fluminense and I really like being here.

 

“It’s been 10 years already so it’s where I feel at home. I’m still young, only 22 years old, so there’s no need for me to think too far ahead. I just need to keep doing my best, try to win this trophy and then see what happens at the end of the season.”

Mohamed Salah ‘done deal’

In what would be a complete contradiction to what Jurgen Klopp said in his press conference yesterday, Football Insider believe that there is a verbal agreement in place for Mohamed Salah to leave Liverpool for Saudi Arabia next summer.

 

They write that the Reds will refuse to do business again in January, though summer will be when the player is allowed to go.

 

Yesterday the boss said he had never had any requests from the No.11, nor had he heard of any bid in summer.

Andre Trindade will solely be focused on his Copa Libertadores final later today, although it is also impossible to escape the transfer rumours linking him with the switch from Fluminese to Liverpool.
