UPDATE : Liverpool record best Anfield start in 38 years after 8th win on the bounce
Remember the start of the season when downsizing was all the rage? As is usually the case with these schemes, it took a few weeks for them to disappear
Mohamed Salah tackled a Nottingham Forest defender.
The horrific news from Colombia about the kidnapping of Luis Diaz’s parents was overshadowed by today’s game.
Of course, he was left out of the opening game against Nottingham Forest.
Jurgen Klopp will be the first to tell his team that reviews don’t matter in the grand scheme of things.
But he can still count on Liverpool’s powerful attack, with Diogo Lotta alongside Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunes.
His opener showed Klopp’s skill.
Jota celebrated in Diaz’s shirt after receiving plaudits from all four teams at Anfield.
Tottenham lead Arsenal after 10 games of the Premier League season
Nunez added a second before the break as Liverpool never looked uncomfortable even before Salah capitalized on Matt Turner’s stunning mistake to seal victory.
Here are four things Liverpool.com highlighted during the game
Liverpool had the last laugh after ‘Muscat’ Salah.
It didn’t take long for Salah to show his well-founded disbelief week after week. This time Nottingham Forest defender Murillo was awarded a penalty for elbowing the Egyptian.
However, while Murillo was free to use the special rules to abuse Liverpool’s talisman, it has to be said that overall it was a good result.
Moments later, it was a special moment when he beat Salah and crossed to Anthony Elanga.
In a game where Nottingham Forest had little chance to display anything in possession, he produced a neat display that caught Liverpool’s eye.
The risk was too great to open up Klopp’s side, but Jota did just that.
I think he was finally punished for Murillo’s courage and face.
However, as I wrote earlier, his profile is interesting from a transfer perspective.
Enfield thinks with Diaz
Anfield used Jota and his celebration as an example to show that Diaz is thinking of him. His name was mentioned all over the stadium.
It was a good move from the Liverpool fans.
Obviously, it really makes sense to never be alone in times of crisis.
In the 37th minute, the national anthem was played for Paul McHugh after a minute’s applause.
The former Liverpool fan died suddenly just hours after attending last weekend’s derby.
