A look at Liverpool’s upcoming fixtures compared to Premier League title rivals Arsenal and Man City

Liverpool only have a day or two on the training pitches before they return to action after their 2-1 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion. After coming from behind to defeat the Seagulls at Anfield, Arne Slot’s side must now turn their attention to the Champions League.

On Tuesday night, the Reds will lock horns with Bayer Leverkusen at Anfield. Liverpool have enjoyed a perfect start to the new-look Champions League, winning each of their first three games; only Aston Villa have managed to win as many points after three outings.

While Xabi Alonso will be given a warm welcome by the home faithful, the Spaniard will look to defeat his former side. So, with that being said, the ECHO have looked at Liverpool’s upcoming fixtures and how they compare to their rivals.

Bayer Leverkusen (H) – Champions League – Tuesday, November 5

The return of Xabi Alonso. The Spaniard will be pleased to return to Anfield, and he’ll certainly be given a warm welcome. However, Bayer Leverkusen are no pushovers and they’ll be eager to dent Liverpool’s perfect start to the Champions League season.

Aston Villa (H) – Premier League – Saturday, November 9

Another tough game for Liverpool, but it’s another game at Anfield. With this being the Reds’ final game before the next international break, Slot will be determined to head into the interval with three more points.

Southampton (A) – Premier League – Sunday, November 24

Southampton have really struggled to get points on the board this season. The Saints sit rock bottom of the Premier League with just one point after nine games – and Liverpool will be looking to pile on the misery.
