Liverpool Predicted Starting XI for Premier League match versus Chelsea Darwin Nunez,Jarell Quansah Start.
The Reds return to the Premier League against Chelsea in a huge game, so how could they lineup versus the Blues
Crystal Palace FC v Liverpool FC –
Liverpool dive back into the heat of the Premier League with a stern test against a fellow “Big 6” side in the shape of Chelsea FC.
The Reds have had a strong start under Arne Slot this season and currently sit at the top of the table but the Blues are one of the few teams that have been in nearly as good of form as Liverpool has.
Cole Palmer has been one of the most dangerous players in the league this season and he will be a handful for whoever starts in defense for Liverpool.
It’s been a mixed bag of results for the Reds while they have been on international duty with their respective nations so it will be interesting to see how they are able to get back in the club form they showed before the break.
Let’s take a look at how Liverpool could lineup for this pivotal clash.
Goalkeeper: Caoimhin Kelleher
Defenders: Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ibrahima Konate, Virgil van Dijk, Andy Robertson
Midfielders: Alexis Mac Allister, Ryan Gravenberch, Dominik Szoboszlai
Forwards: Mohamed Salah, Diogo Jota, Luis Diaz
Probable Subs: Cody Gakpo, Curtis Jones, Darwin Nunez, Jarell Quansah, Conor Bradley
With Alisson Becker still out injured, I think it’s another shot for Kelleher to prove his worth between the sticks as he was in goal for the League Cup final triumph over Chelsea in February.
With this being such a marquee match, I think Slot goes with his strongest defensive options that we have seen this season. TAA is coming off scoring a brilliant goal for England so his confidence should be sky-high.
Konate and van Dijk have been the best center partnership in the Premier League and they will be needed to slow down a high-flying Chelsea attack right now.
The midfield sees Mac Alllister and Gravenberch retain their places as they have been two of Liverpool’s most consistent players this season. Jones could challenge Szoboszlai but I think our No. 8 gets the nod.
As we move to the attack, Salah is an obvious choice as he has been in sterling shape so far this season and should be well-rested after being given a game off by Egypt.
I think Jota gets the call over Nunez as Slot will be looking for clinical finishing in such a tight matchup and Diaz will get the the nod out left as he has most of the season. Gakpo off the bench after an hour could be a lethal option.
It’s going to be a tough assignment on Sunday and whoever gets the starting nod must come out ready to meet the moment against a good opponent. Liverpool have the talent to get it done so let’s see how it turns out.
