8 goals in 6: Omar Marmoush is ‘serious option’ for Arsenal says report

Arsenal continue their search for an attacking reinforcement, with a new(ish) name emerging as a potential target: Omar Marmoush.

The 25-year-old Egyptian international, currently playing for Eintracht Frankfurt, has reportedly caught the attention of the Gunners again after an impressive start to the Bundesliga season.

He has scored eight goals and provided four assists in six Bundesliga games, making him one of the standout performers in Germany’fight

With 32 caps and six goals for Egypt, Marmoush also has experience at the international level, adding to his appeal as Arsenal consider strengthening their frontline.

Several Premier League clubs, including Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United, West Ham, and Newcastle, are also monitoring the Egyptian’s progress.

However, Arsenal’s interest appears to be growing, and the club could make a move if Marmoush can show consistency.

Eintracht Frankfurt are reportedly open to negotiations and would consider offers around €40 million for the player they signed for free in teh summer of 2023, making the transfer a realistic possibility.

Marmoush’s journey to prominence began when he signed for Wolfsburg from Egyptian side Wadi Degla at the age of 18.

He later spent time on loan at FC St. Pauli, where he scored seven goals and registered three assists in 21 matches.

The season before last, while on loan at Stuttgart, he contributed three goals and four assists in 18 appearances, although his season was interrupted by a foot injury.

Arsenal’s interest in Marmoush isn’t entirely new. In 2022, the Gunners were reportedly vying with Tottenham Hotspur for the then 23-year-old’s signature, according to German outlet Bild.

At the time, Mikel Arteta and Antonio Conte were both keeping tabs on the winger, who had expressed his ambitions for a move to England, saying, “I’d like to one day play for a big team in the Premier League. I hope to one day play alongside Salah.”

Now contracted to Eintracht Frankfurt until 2027, Marmoush’s market value has risen significantly, reflecting his development as a player.

While previously valued around £4 million, the current transfer market suggests he is worth around €22 million, a valuation that seems set to rise if he keeps scoring at his present rate.
