BREAKING NEWS LIVE – Arsenal register interest in 24-year-old defensive midfielder as replacement for Thomas Partey

Ahead of the January transfer window, Arsenal football club will most definitely remain keen on further strengthening their current squad under the management of Mikel Arteta.

But then, following reports that experienced defensive midfielder Thomas Partey wants to leave the club due to lack of playing time, the Gunners are now on the lookout for an ideal replacement.

And if reports are anything to go by, then Arsenal football club have been linked with a move for highly-rated Real Sociedad defensive midfielder Martin Zubimendi.

The 24-year-old Spain International, who gained promotion to the Real Sociedad first-team squad back in 2020 has proven to be an important member of the team in recent seasons.

The young defensive midfielder was hugely involved for Real Sociedad during the 2022/2023 season where he scored one goal and created four assists in 44 appearances in all competitions.

Martin Zubimendi has also started the ongoing season on a strong note so far, scoring one goal and recording one assist in 14 appearances in all competitions for Real Sociedad.

His excellent performances in that defensive midfield role has caught the attention of Arsenal and according to reports from Transfer News Live, the Gunners are keen on signing him.

The reports further claimed that Arsenal football club are really interested in Martin Zubimendi and have now added the young defensive midfielder to their list of transfer targets.

It is believed that Thomas Partey wants to leave Arsenal to play regular first-team football elsewhere and manager Mikel Arteta has now identified Martin Zubimendi as an ideal replacement for him.

But then, it remains to be seen if Real Sociedad will be interested in listening to transfer offers for Martin Zubimendi from Arsenal football club when the transfer window opens.
