🟢🟢LFC TRANSFER NEWS LIVE 🚨🚨Stefan Bajcetic preparing to make crucial career decision

Stefan Bajcetic is currently on loan at RB Salzburg under the wing of former Liverpool assistant manager Pep Lijnders.

Stefan Bajcetic is set to make a huge decision on his future in football imminently.

The promising Spanish midfielder experienced a significant breakthrough during the 2022/23 season with Liverpool.

His performances showcased maturity beyond his years, earning him 19 appearances across all competitions and highlighting his potential as a future mainstay in the Reds’ midfield.

However, the subsequent 2023/24 season proved challenging for Bajcetic. An adductor injury in March 2023 curtailed his momentum, sidelining him for an extended period.

This setback, coupled with physical growth concerns limited his contributions, with the midfielder making only three appearances throughout the season.

Recognizing the need for regular playing time to regain form and confidence, Liverpool arranged a loan move for the 19-year-old to Red Bull Salzburg for the 2024/25 season

This decision aimed to provide him with consistent first-team opportunities under the guidance of former Liverpool assistant manager Pep Lijnders, now at the helm of Salzburg.

Since joining Salzburg, it has not been the best start for Bajcetic or indeed the rest of Salzburg.

He received some negative backlash from Austrian newspaper Kronen Zeitung following a 5-0 defeat to Sturm Graz, while he also received a fine for lateness before a Champions League match.

But it seems that Bajcetic may have bigger things on his mind if reports from Spain are true.

Stefan Bajcetic could make national team decision imminently

Bajcetic holds dual eligibility to represent both Spain and Serbia at the international level.

His father, Srđan Bajcetic is a former Serbian footballer, while his mother is Spanish, granting him the option to play for either national team.

To date, Bajčetić has chosen to represent Spain in youth international competitions. He has made three appearances for Spain’s U18 team and one appearance for the U21 side.

Diario AS have reported that Spain’s Royal Football Federation (RFEF) called him up for the U21 squad in March 2023 to fend off interest from Serbia, his father’s country, which had offered him a spot in their senior national team

But Serbia has renewed its interest in Bajcetic.

According to the report, the Serbian federation is waiting to see if he is named in Spain’s next U21 squad.

If he is left out, Serbia plans to attempt to recruit him again, aiming to convince him to join their national setup next March.

Bajectic, however, has always expressed his desire to play for Spain. He previously chose Spain’s U21s over Serbia’s senior team, and he feels a strong connection to Spain, the country where he was born and raised, even though he is fluent in Serbian.
