Liverpool have received a huge Mohamed Salah boost from the Egyptian FA.

Several Liverpool players will jet off to their various national teams this coming week for the November international break.

The England duo Trent Alexander Arnold and Curtis Jones have already been called up by Lee Carsley for the Three Lions upcoming games against Greece and Northern Ireland.

The likes of Virgil van Dijk, Cody Gakpo and Ryan Gravenberch are expected to join the Dutch national team camp, while the South American trio of Luis Diaz, Alexis Mac Allister and Darwin Nunez are also expected to travel.

Mohamed Salah, who captains the Egyptian national team, was also expected to join the Pharaohs ahead of their AFCON qualifier games against Cape Verde and Botswana.

However, the latest report from Egypt claims that the 32-year-old would be sitting out the ties.

Mohamed Salah won’t be called up

According to Egyptian news outlet Shorouk News, Salah has been exempted from the national team’s upcoming African Cup of Nations qualifier matches.

With Egypt having already qualified from their group for the tournament taking place in 2026, the FA took the decision to rest Salah and keep him away from the artificial surface he would otherwise have had to play on against Cape Verde.

Salah’s exemption signals that there is a major improvement in terms of relations between Liverpool and the Egyptian FA.

The Reds and Egypt have had a few clashes in the past regarding the involvement of Salah in some unfavourable national team games.

That said, the latest development is great news for Liverpool and a huge boost for Arne Slot’s preparations ahead of a testing period in late November and early December.

Liverpool will need the Egyptian to be in good shape in the next weeks.

The 32-year-old is currently enjoying one of the best spells of his career and has been instrumental for Slot since he arrived at Anfield.

Meanwhile, Liverpool fans will hope that Salah and Liverpool can come to an agreement about a contrast extension soon.
