🚨🚨🚨LIVERPOOL TRANSFER NEWS LIVE: Teun Koopmeiners green light, Ilkay Gundogan move, Lookman links Liverpool transfer news as Anthony Gordon remains wanted, Joe Gomez is drawing interest, Jarrad Branthwaite is linked, and Ilkay Gundogan is on the move again.

Liverpool still hasn’t made a transfer this summer but after a move for Martin Zubimendi collapsed, a centre-back appears the most obvious new focus.
Joe Gomez’s future is still very much up in the air after he was left out of the squad for the first Premier League game of the season against Ipswich Town. While it was a near-perfect start with a 2-0 win, Arne Slot hooked Jarell Quansah at half-time in a ruthless tactical move which heightens the idea a new defender might be on the radar.
With that in mind, it was fascinating to see the odds on Jarrad Branthwaite leaving Everton for local rivals Liverpool in a shock move slashed by some bookmakers on Sunday evening. There were also renewed links with Marc Guehi, who has been a name mentioned regularly throughout the summer.
With deals still being discussed in the background, at least according to the rumor mill, Liverpool.com brings you all the latest developments in a window Reds fans hope will spark into action at any moment.
PSG and Lookman “agree terms”
Ademola Lookman has agreed personal terms with PSG ahead of a potential transfer, per Rudy Galetti. That comes amid claims that Liverpool has been monitoring the situation.
There is still no agreement between PSG and Atalanta over the terms of a transfer. The Italian side is waiting for an official offer.
Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City have all kept informed on Lookman this summer, per TBR. But he now seems bound for Paris as things stand
Liverpool has been credited with transfer interest in Ademola Lookman of Atalanta.
Bayern not keen on Gomez
Bayern Munich is not among the suitors for Joe Gomez. That’s according to Florian Plettenberg.
Gomez missed the Liverpool win over Ipswich Town as he explores his options. And Bayern, now managed by Vincent Kompany, was initially mentioned as a possible destination.
However, Bayern is going all out for Jonathan Tah. Currently, if it does not land him, it is not expected to add an alternative in defense.

Mamardashvili won’t force Liverpool move
Giorgi Mamardashvili has no intention of forcing through a move to Liverpool. That’s per Super Deporte.
He is still keen on the Anfield switch, and willing to go out on loan this season before joining up. But he intends to treat Valencia with the utmost respect.
That means Liverpool will have little choice but to pay the asking price of $44m (£34m/€40m) if it wants to seal the deal. Mamardashvili continues to train normally as he awaits a resolution.
Liverpool is yet to meet the asking price for Mamardashvili.
Transfer hints from Slot?
We know that Joe Gomez was left out of the Liverpool squad at the weekend because he is exploring his options. But might Arne Slot have provided some more transfer hints?
In a week where Raheem Sterling’s exclusion from the Chelsea matchday squad made headlines, Liverpool also left players at home. Sepp van den Berg, Nat Phillips, Tyler Morton, Ben Doak and Kaide Gordon were all left out.
Loans or permanent deals for the quintet could conceivably be on the cards. But Liverpool now has less than two weeks left to conclude any business.

Fulham agrees Sander Berge deal
Fulham has agreed a deal to sign Sander Berge, reports Fabrizio Romano. That marks the end of a proposed Manchester United move.
Previously, Liverpool has also been linked with the Burnley man. But the Reds chose not to pursue alternative targets after the Martin Zubimendi deal fell through.
Berge joins for an initial $26m (£20m/€23m). He will be tasked with replacing Joao Palhinha.
Liverpool and Barcelona stances on Diaz
Luis Diaz is expected to remain at Liverpool this season. That’s despite legitimate interest from Barcelona.
According to Sport, Barcelona did genuinely turn to Diaz as one of its favored options, having been met with obstacles in the pursuit of Nico Williams. But Liverpool considered the winger “non-transferable” unless a truly major offer came in.
Barcelona cannot currently afford such an operation, the report claims. It will look to alternatives including Federico Chiesa.

Liverpool contract “update”
There is no news on the contract situations of Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk or Trent Alexander-Arnold. That’s per David Ornstein on NBC Sports.
The Liverpool trio all underlined their importance to Liverpoool on the opening day. But they are all out of contract next year, and there has been no change on that front.
Ornstein suggested that these are “massive issues” Liverpool will need to address. Let’s hope for progress soon.

Liverpool sends scouts to Feyenoord
Liverpool had scouts in attendance at Arne Slot’s old club this weekend. HITC says the Reds were in attendance as Feyenoord beat PEC Zwolle 5-1.
Aston Villa and Manchester City added to the Premier League representation. It’s not clear who in particular Liverpool was assessing.
Villa was likely running the rule over Lutsharel Geetruida. He was linked to Liverpool earlier in the summer, but the Midlands outfit is now thought to be keen.

Koopmeiners gets green light
Teun Koopmeiners has finally been given the green light to complete a move away from Atalanta. The confirmed arrival of Lazar Samardzic has helped produce a breakthrough.
However, the reported Liverpool target will not be joining the Reds. Instead, per Il Bianconero (citing Corriere dello Sport), Juventus has at last come close to closing the most protratced negotiation of the summer.
Juventus and Atalanta have been at odds for weeks, with the player sold on the move for some time. But Koopmeiners could now arrive in Turin as soon as tomorrow as the deal nears.

Beck not a target for Middlesbrough
There’s been something of an exodus of young players at Liverpool this summer. Owen Beck could become the latest to go, but Middlesbrough will not be pursuing a move.
That’s per Teesside Live. Following up a report from Scotland, it understands that Beck is not on the list of targets, even though Middlesbrough is on the lookout for a new left-back.
Beck thrived last season on loan at Dundee. It’s been suggested that Celtic is keen on a transfer, while Leeds has also been mentioned.

Branthwaite entourage perplexed by Liverpool links
We’ve already heard that Everton has been left perplexed by Liverpool’s shortening odds on signing Jarrad Branthwaite. There has been no contact over a move.
Now, the ECHO has revealed that those close to Branthwaite have been left similarly taken aback. That rules out any theory that the player has been contacted without Everton’s knowledge.
Any deal to take Branthwaite from Everton to Liverpool would clearly be fraught with difficulty. Even without all of the extra baggage, Manchester United was unable to strike an agreement this summer.

Origi available for free
Not only is AC Milan looking to move on cult Liverpool hero Divock Origi this summer, it is prepared to lose him for free. That’s per the Express.
It’s a disappointing turn of events for the striker, who left Liverpool two years ago. There is interest from the MLS and Saudi Pro League.
Origi scored the iconic fourth goal against Barcelona in the 2019 Champions League semi-final, before putting the final to bed against Spurs.

Liverpool weighs up Lookman swoop
Liverpool is considering a late move for former Everton forward Ademola Lookman. That’s per The Boot Room.
Currently plying his trade for Atalanta, Lookman was left out of the first matchday squad of the season amid speculation over his future. PSG is thought to be at the front of the queue for the 26-year-old, but Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City have all been kept informed.
None of the English trio have taken their interest any further yet. And Lookman himself is believed to favor
Joe Gomez out, Adrien Truffert in?
Liverpool could lose Joe Gomez this summer because he may want to get regular game time elsewhere given that Arne Slot cannot guarantee him minutes anywhere let alone at center-back.
Rennes left-back Adrien Truffert, meanwhile, is being linked with a move. Manchester United and Wolves are also said to be tracking him.
If Liverpool loses Gomez, a new center-back coming back is a must. Even as it stands there is an argument for the Reds bringing in another option at the back just to be safe.
Jarrad Branthwaite transfer latest
Everton is said to be “in the dark” over rumors that Liverpool is planning a controversial transfer swoop for star defender Jarrad Branthwaite. Bookmakers slashed the odds on Branthwaite making a move to Anfield but that doesn’t mean anything is imminent — far from it in fact.
The ECHO reports that there has been no communication between Liverpool and Everton regarding Branthwaite. On Sunday, fans noticed that Sky Bet had surprisingly cut the odds on Branthwaite leaving Goodison Park before the end of the transfer window. He’s currently priced at 5/4 to join Liverpool.
Ilkay Gundogan set for Barcelona exit
Former Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was a huge fan of Ilkay Gundogan, who he worked with at Borussia Dortmund. But a year after he left Manchester City, the German midfielder could be set to head back to England again after a stint with Barcelona.
The Athletic’s David Ornstein reports that he has interest from the Premier League, Saudi Arabia and Qatar. A return to Manchester City could be one possibility. Barcelona is, as ever, in need of a financial boost so losing him from its wage bill will be no bad thing.

Diogo Jota thriving in central role
Liverpool forward Diogo Jota got off the mark this weekend after putting a poor miss behind him quickly to open the scoring against Ipswich Town at Portman Road.
Arne Slot spoke of his belief that Jota’s most effective position is down the middle after the Portugal forward netted against Ipswich. And Jota told Liverpool’s official website: “Yeah, I agree, especially with the way we played.
“It’s obviously a bit different from [Jurgen] Klopp where I maybe was useful out wide. I think here he [Slot] wants our wingers a lot more in one-v-ones and I think we have better options than myself!
“If I stay in the middle and wait for those chances to come in and score them, I think that is what I do the best so you can take that into the season.”

Jurgen Klopp loves Jarrad Branthwaite
It seems unlikely that Liverpool would be able to snap up Jarrad Branthwaite from Merseyside rivals Everton this summer. Like Anthony Gordon, while he is admired by many, he might have to move elsewhere before that is a real possibility.
Nevertheless, the rumor mill has gone into overdrive in the last couple of days because the odds on Branthwaite swapping Goodison Park for Anfield have been slashed.
Jurgen Klopp is certainly a fan of the player. “[Everton’s] last line [is] super-experienced, and with Branthwaite now a really good left-footed center-half,” he said ahead of his final Merseyside derby.
Joe Gomez ‘asking price’
Liverpool would be looking for upwards of $39m (£30m/€35m) for Joe Gomez this summer, according to Caught Offside. That is stating the obvious, to say the least.
Earlier in the summer, Newcastle agreed to pay $58m (£45m/€53m) for Gomez with Anthony Gordon coming to Liverpool for a fee of $96m (£75m/€88m) as part of the agreement. That, though, was when the Magpies were up against it PSR-wise.
The Reds do not want to lose Gomez, who is viewed as a versatile and valuable part of Arne Slot’s roster, but they tend not to stand in the way if someone makes it clear they want to go. Chelsea is among the clubs said to be keen.

Newcastle in for Joe Gomez
Joe Gomez is said to be considering his options at Liverpool this summer with the 27-year-old wanting to play regularly at center-back. According to the Daily Mail, Newcastle United remains keen on him.
Earlier in the summer, Newcastle agreed to pay $58m (£45m/€53m) for Gomez with Anthony Gordon heading the other way for a fee of $96m (£75m/€88m). That, though, was when the Magpies were up against it PSR-wise.
Divock Origi on the move again
Liverpool cult hero Divock Origi will leave AC Milan this summer, according to Fabrizio Romano. It is reported that the Belgian has options in various places but the Serie A wants him to go.
Qatar, Saudi Arabian and MLS clubs are said to be interested. He spent last season on loan at Nottingham Forest but has failed to find a proper home since his contract at Anfield expired.

Harvey Blair could make transfer exit
Liverpool forward Harvey Blair could be the next young talent to make a permanent move away from Merseyside this summer, according to David Lynch.
Blair, who turns 21 next month, is ready for the next step in his career. A loan would be an option but he is realistically unlikely to be able to break into a Liverpool forward line that includes the likes of Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz.

Liverpool and Man Utd battle for transfer
Giorgi Mamardashvili is a player that Liverpool wants to sign but according to the Daily Mirror, Manchester United has joined the race for his signature too. Erik ten Hag wants another goalkeeper and has supposedly identified the Georgian.
The 23-year-old is said to be open to a move to Anfield or Old Trafford as he seeks the next step in his career. Valencia has played down the suggestion that he could leave but a price tag of around $44m (£34m/€40m) has been set.
Liverpool target Giorgi Mamardashvili has been subjected to many
Stade Rennes defender Adrien Truffert, who played for France at the Olympic Games in Paris, is a target for Liverpool this summer, according to L’Equipe.
The 22-year-old is also said to be on the radar of Manchester United and Wolves. If the latter is in for a left-back, though, perhaps that could open up a chance to snap up Rayan Ait Nouri.

Bobby Clark personal terms agreed
Liverpool attacking midfielder Bobby Clark has agreed personal terms ahead of a $13m (£10m/€12m) move to Red Bull Salzburg, according to the ECHO
The 19-year-old played a fair bit last season but Pep Lijnders has been desperate to take him to Austria. Salzburg will be playing in the Champions League this year and it could be a good move for his career, with the Red Bull outfit notorious for developing young talent.

Martin Zubimendi transfer admission made
Real Sociedad manager Imanol Alguacil has not ruled out that Martin Zubimendi could still leave the La Liga side this summer despite the 25-year-old Spanish international having turned down a transfer to Liverpool.
Sporting director Richard Hughes wanted to bring Zubimendi in and did everything in his power to get a deal over the line but the player could not be convinced to leave his boyhood side. Alguacil, though, is not getting carried away.
“This happens every year [teams coming for their players], to everyone, to all the managers and sporting directors, every summer there’s movement…” Alguacil said. “Merino and Le Normand? There are no two players like them.
“And I won’t even tell you [about] if Zubimendi leaves or not last minute. They are all unreal players… due to the things that they’ve done with us, Le Normand has left, Arsenal want Merino and Liverpool was willing to pay Zubimendi’s clause. But we can’t find excuses every time there’s no Merino and Le Normand.”
Martin Zubimendi has already rejected Liverpool’s advances in favor of remaining with Real Sociedad
Giorgi Mamardashvili transfer update
Liverpool is interested in signing Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili this summer, though he would not actually arrive at Anfield until Alisson Becker is ready to depart.
Mamardashvili played for Valencia during its 2-1 defeat against Barcelona on Saturday, however, and the La Liga outfit’s manager Ruben Baraja has played down the suggestion that his side might have to get used to being without the Georgian.
It has been suggested that Liverpool would loan out Mamardashvili if a deal is completed, with Bournemouth one option. If he was to go to the south coast, though, he would have to be loaned from Valencia and then become a Liverpool player next summer because of Premier League rules.
“It’s very simple. He’s our player, and as long as there is no other different situation, I’m not going to evaluate anything,” Baraja said this weekend. “He’s here, he’s ready to participate. We can’t talk about situations that haven’t happened yet.”

Marc Guehi lifeline emerges
Liverpool has received a lifeline if it wants to pursue a move for Marc Guehi.
According to TeamTalk, Liverpool has reignited its interest in the England defender after receiving a boost because Newcastle cooled its own transfer efforts.
Liverpool is still being linked with a center-back this summer, and Arne Slot’s decision to hook Jarell Quansah at half-time of the first game against Ipswich Town has only strengthened that belief.
Guehi could move on from Crystal Palace for a big fee this summer and Liverpool is reported to be back in the market with Newcastle’s latest movements clearing the
Jarrad Branthwaite odds plummet
Liverpool has seen links for Everton centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite re-emerge after the odds on him joining the Reds plummeted.
Branthwaite has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United this summer. Everton has already turned down two offers from the Red Devils.
But in surprise twist, Sky Bet has slashed odds on a potential transfer to Liverpool. He is priced as low as 2/1 to make a surprise switch to city rivals Liverpool.
While there are no solid reports tying him to Liverpool, it’s important to remember bookies often slash odds when bet volumes rise, to manage the market’s profitability.
