Thomas Partey, Oleksandr Zinchenko – Arsenal injury news and return dates for Sheffield United

All the latest Arsenal injury news and updates ahead of the Gunners’ clash against Sheffield United as the title race builds a head of steam

Thomas Partey amongst several who could return for Arsenal against Sheffield United.

Mikel Arteta will be determined to continue Arsenal’s winning streak when they face Sheffield United. Chris Wilder will welcome the Gunners to Bramall Lane on Monday night as either side hopes to climb the Premier League table.

Arsenal have won each of their last six games in the English top flight – in fact, they’re unbeaten in the competition this year. While the north Londoners have enjoyed an excellent vein of form in the Premier League recently, they have suffered defeats to Liverpool in the FA Cup third round and Porto in the Champions League round of 16 first-leg

Thomas Partey

Partey has sidelines since October with thigh injury which he suffered in training. The midfielder could return to action on Monday night which would come as a huge boost for Arsenal in the title race.

Return date: Sheffield United (A) – Monday, March

What Arteta has said: “Thomas had a session before the last game and now he’s done two or three consecutive sessions,” said Arteta. “He should be part of the squad on Monday.”

Oleksandr Zinchenko

The Gunners’ trip to Bramall Lane may come too soon for Zinchenko, who has missed nearly a month of action due to a reoccurring calf issue.

Injury: Calf

Expected return date: Brentford (H) – Saturday, March 9

What Arteta has said: “It’s possible but we’ll have to wait and see. Especially in the last two sessions on Saturday and Sunday. If that’s the case they might be available on Monday.”

Takehiro Tomiyasu

Similarly to Zinchenko, Tomiyasu’s involvement on Monday will depend on how he fares in training over the weekend.

Jurrien Timber

Timber, who joined Arsenal from Ajax in summer, suffered a horrible injury on the opening weekend of the Premier League season. At the end of the first-half of the Gunners’ clash against Nottingham Forest, the 22-year-old defender went down clutching his right knee.

Following scans and further assessments, the north London outfit later revealed that he ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament – an injury which is set to keep him out of action for a large chunk of the season. Timbr recently returned to training earlier this week as he continues his recovery.
