Newcastle United star Anthony Gordon continues to be linked with a move to Liverpool. Despite a £75 million deal falling through back in June, the Reds are still being tipped to sign the former Everton star before the transfer window closes.

According to i News, Newcastle have identified three players who are being lined up to replace Gordon in the event the forward leaves to join Liverpool. West Ham duo Mohammed Kudus and Jarrod Bowen as well as Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze have been named as candidates to be Gordon’s replacement in the report.

It has been claimed, though, that Newcastle expect Gordon to remain at St James’ Park despite the links to Liverpool. However, it seems that the Magpies are putting a plan in place in the event that stance changes.

Manu Kone transfer claim

Liverpool have reportedly been presented the opportunity to sign Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Manu Kone.

Reports earlier this summer claimed that Kone had decided to leave the Bundesliga club this summer. Liverpool have previously been linked with a move for Kone, and HITC has claimed that Monchengladbach have informed the Reds they can sign the midfielder should they wish.

It has been stated that Liverpool have been joined by Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Fulham in being offered the chance to sign Kone. It remains to be seen what transfer fee Monchengladbach would demand for the midfielder, whose contract expires in 2026.
